Linda Jervis Class "A" LPGA T & CP

Linda Jervis Class

Linda has dedicated her life to the game of golf and has been sharing her vast knowledge with all levels of players on a full-time basis since 1995. Obtaining her Class A teaching designation in 2002, Linda continues to gain valuable insight and education through extensive, ongoing training with the LPGA. Linda ranks high amongst Canada's Top Women Golf Teachers and is one of a small handful of Canadian women to compete professionally at the international level. Linda plays a key role within the Academy at Northview Golf Course, Surrey, British Columbia, developing high-quality golf schools and personal coaching programs.

Linda's focus is a simple one, HAVE FUN! Golf is a GAME and is meant to be a pleasurable experience. The Golf Club is a playground where you go to create, explore, experiment and relax. I strongly encourage a positive belief system (your actions) and goal setting approach to learning and playing the game. The game of golf is not simply a learned set of swing mechanics. When your belief system and skills are in tune, you can't help but have a positive experience playing the game.

Golf is not about "right" or "wrong"; it's about gaining insight and feedback from your balls flight, a product of your stance, swing, and personal organization. Teaching golf is about conveying an understanding of these factors. Positive coaching and feedback allow you to grow from your experiences, not just in golf, in life. The golfing experience should be about what you learned about yourself and how much fun you have had, not how many strokes or putts you had while having "fun".

By age 15, Linda was one of Canada's top-ranked amateurs, her experience in playing LPGA Tour events now enables her to coach at all levels and offer her student's solid advice on every aspect of the game. Her passion for golf and her qualifications as a player and coach stand for themselves. Most important is that she truly cares about your game, you will often hear Linda ask: "What kind of golfer would you like to be?"

In 1993 and '94, Linda played the Asian and Australian Tours missing only 2 cuts in these seasons; an amazing statistic that is a testament to her abilities and character. In 1995, she was the CPGA Championship Runner-Up. Linda's amateur ranking was as high as 5th in Canada, before turning professional in 1991. In 1991 and '92, Linda played the Player's West and Futures Tours, where she had top 10 finishes in her first 7 events. Linda won the Bidwell Tournament in Chico, CA, on the Player's West Tour and won 2 duMaurier Qualifying Tournaments that allowed her to twice play in the duMaurier Canadian Open an LPGA Major (now the Bank of Montreal Tournament). Linda's 1992 season culminated in being the lowest scoring Canadian playing the Player's West Tour. Because of her strong finishes at the duMaurier Qualifying events, Linda was ranked 5th and 3rd in Canada for 1991 and 1992, respectively.
